The primary purpose of the Clinton County Solid Waste Management District is to promote and increase waste reduction through the practice of encouraging recycling and litter prevention activities in Clinton County, thus preserving local natural resources.

Have you ever found yourself with a useless item that you don't know how to get rid of? (Sorry ladies, husbands don't count!) Such items may include electronics, waste oil, tires, appliances, household hazardous wastes, and other such materials. Well, click on Recycling Resources to view a list of places to dispose of or recycle some of those "hard-to-get-rid-of" materials that are not accepted at local recycling drop-off sites.

COMPUTER/ELECTRONICS RECYCLING EVENT ADDED TO RECYCLING EVENT LINE-UP
The SWMD has just announced that it will host a computer/electronics recycling event to take place on Saturday, August 2, 2008. Items will be accepted from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Clinton County Engineer's Office in Wilmington.

Items accepted: computers, monitors, scanners, printers, fax machines, cell phones, copiers, radios, CD and DVD players

Items NOT accepted: televisions and appliances
(NOTE: Residents will be serviced on a first-come, first-served basis until the receiving truck is full.)
