The Elmer Williams Community Attitudes Survey now available
The Clinton County Regional Planning Commission hopes that this new survey can help you express community wants and needs and help decision makers be responsive.

Dear Citizens,
Since 1970 the CCRPC has led various planning projects throughout Clinton County. In 2008, we welcome you to our inaugural Community Attitudes Survey- named in honor of local Blanchester community leader Elmer Williams. In 1957, Elmer created a Community Attitude Survey for the Mason, Ohio Junior Chamber of Commerce and through his active involvement in the Jaycees, by 1963 over 70% of all cities and towns in the United States that boasted a Jaycee Chapter, had run that survey; university professor's noted that the survey provided important direction for community development programs and it had become the International Jaycees' number one external project being used in 83 countries of the free world.
Many local governments continue to use this model pioneered by Elmer and other community leaders, actively surveying residents on important issues to provide direct feedback and insight. We hope that this new survey can help you express community wants and needs and help decision makers be responsive. This survey has no 'agenda' and while some topics might be considered 'controversial'- the information is used solely to express and inform on community feelings. All information is anonymous and considered carefully. Please be as open as you wish.
We thank many partners for their help and support in crafting this survey, including many Planning Commissioners and ExOfficio Members of the CCRPC, Blanchester Downtown Development Committee, Wilmington-Clinton County Chamber of Commerce and the Clinton County Convention and Visitor's Bureau. We also thank University of Cincinnati political science undergraduate James Ramey and OSU Extension, Clinton County Webmaster Sue Reynolds for their work in benchmarking and survey design. Your input is very valuable, the results will be available in the coming months and presented to City, County, Townships and Villages. Thank you for taking your time in this important new endeavor.
Yours,
Christian Schock
Executive Director on behalf of the entire CCRPC
