HOW WE SERVE
Our mission, as the Clinton County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC), is to consistently embody our strategic statement- "Communities Working Together". Please view our 2007 Consolidated Annual Report, we strive to serve as an agent of regional cooperation and interagency dialogue, a guardian for the future and efficient utilization of resources and, as noted in our charter Resolution, an advocate for the “physical, social and economic development” of the County and its Citizens. The Commission, composed of 20 voting Planning Commissioners and nearly 20 ExOfficio Members representing businesses, community groups, environmental organizations, and civic associations; meets regularly on the 3rd Tuesday of most months at 7pm, please contact our office in advance to confirm the location of the monthly meeting. The Commission administers and/or authors all major planning documents within the County- including the Clinton County Zoning Resolution, the Clinton County Comprehensive Plan, the Clinton County Subdivision Regulations, and the Clinton County Park and Open Space Plan among others.
The CCRPC also serves as a primary regional voice for Clinton County through a consultative seat on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Kentucky Indiana Regional Council of Governments (OKI) www.oki.org and seeks member status with the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) www.mvrpc.org; both of which serve as the metropolitan planning organizations for the Greater Cincinnati and Greater Dayton regions respectively. In 2008, our staff chairs the Clinton County Economic Alliance in collaboration with the Wilmington-Clinton County Chamber of Commerce www.wccchamber.com.

Since the CCRPC is uniquely structured to support planning efforts across political boundaries, it serves as an important leadership forum for development and planning issues that face the County. The CCRPC drafted the County’s first Comprehensive Plan and the most recent update and administers the Clinton County Subdivision Regulations, as well as drafts the Clinton County Zoning Resolution and develops/contributes to planning projects in the villages, townships and the city.
WHAT IS PLANNING
The term “planning” may have many different connotations; perhaps some view it as government bureaucracy, a part of politics, or as a process to express community concerns or advocate for a cause. But most importantly, planning is about improving quality of life and the development choices that impact the social, economic and physical development of the County.
To improve quality of life, we know that the planning process must deliver vision- an understanding of community wants and needs and providing tools to local leaders to attain them. This focus on local empowerment, technical assistance and community improvement is our commitment to you, the Citizens of Clinton County.

PLANNING THE WAY
The CCRPC is committed to active funding and coordination of planning processes in areas most affected by growth; we are currently leading the Gateway Local Comprehensive Plan process which involves Chester, Adams and Vernon Twps. and the Village of Clarksville. Perhaps most importantly, we support local planning capacity by advising our member municipalities, assisting with grant writing, and facilitating planning discussions that span political jurisdictions.
The planning process is always one of collaboration, each plan has an extensive public outreach component and if you would like to be a part of a committee or give your input any of these issues or others, please contact the CCRPC at anytime staff@clintoncountyrpc.org or 937-382-3582.
