When should Children Services be contacted?
Ø Any situation involving domestic violence in the home; even if the children were NOT present at the time of the incident.
Ø When children under the age of 10 are unsupervised of left unattended.
Ø When there are drugs found in a home where children reside
Ø Every time someone is arrested for DUI and there are children in the vehicle.
Ø When living conditions are questionable (unsanitary, no utilities, lack of food, health hazards, etc.).
Ø Any time there are allegations of sexual abuse. This includes contact between a child and an adult, and a child and another child. It doesn’t matter if the contact was “consensual”.
Ø When a child is injured due to abuse.
Ø When you suspect abuse or neglect.
