When should Children Services be contacted?

Ø    Any situation involving domestic violence in the home; even if the children were NOT present at the time of the incident.

Ø    When children under the age of 10 are unsupervised of left unattended.

Ø    When there are drugs found in a home where children reside

Ø    Every time someone is arrested for DUI and there are children in the vehicle.

Ø    When living conditions are questionable (unsanitary, no utilities, lack of food, health hazards, etc.).

Ø    Any time there are allegations of sexual abuse.  This includes contact between a child and an adult, and a child and another child.  It doesn’t matter if the contact was “consensual”.

Ø    When a child is injured due to abuse.

Ø    When you suspect abuse or neglect.
